“I had never thought any creature besides man existed, until I met my first deer. I always knew of the so-called beauty of nature, but never once thought of a deer as a fellow being until I beheld my furry friend. This white-tailed wonder was a miracle in person, and as peaceful and elegant a creature as a ballet dancer.
Lurking from behind a tree, I was able to look at him closely, remaining mute and without movement. Somehow, I believe he knew I was there. I choose to believe he was comfortable in my presence. When I bought the resin deer head, it was a trophy not of blood but of the friendship my friend and I forged in the wild.”
